PACKAGE: KLX110 automatic 1-day bike hire with 1hr tuition (Riders 146-156cm)

PAYMENT: 

1.  GST at 15% is included in the price.

2.  Please note we do require a 50% fully refundable Bond at the time of booking, which is usually refunded to you in the week following hire.  It is rare that we need to withhold anything from your Bond and, should this be necessary, will be discussed with you at the time. The Bond will be automatically added to the fee at the time of booking and is included in Taxes & Fees.  

3. We accept payment by instalments to suit individual needs.

4. All bookings will incur a booking fee of 1.9% and if you choose to pay via credit card a 2.95% fee will apply.

An adventure unlike anything else available in NZ! Thundercross is the only dirt bike park with a range of tracks available to suit all levels, a fleet of 18 hire bikes and tuition from accredited coaches.  We are a one-stop shop for dirt biking!

Riders must be able to a two-wheel pedal bike ride independently and steer/brake/corner confidently.  

Our hire bikes are suited to rider's physical size and dirt bike experience; riders must be able to place their feet flat on the ground when sitting astride the bike.   

Beginners are required to have at least one hour of tuition with us (included in this package).  The personalized tuition is tailored to your needs, at any level. James is one of NZ's most experienced dirt bike coaches; you will be in good hands.

No matter your age; if you can confidently ride a two-wheel pedal bike, we can teach you to independently ride a dirt bike around our Learners' Track. No motorcycle experience or licence required.

This package includes 1 hour of tuition, which will give you the basics of bike operation - starting, stopping, and braking. Our coaches will get you going, so that you can enjoy the rest of the day on our Learners' Track, set in the centre of our beautiful 750-acre Park, with stunning views all around.  

A second hour of coaching, after lunch, is highly recommended as an optional extra (separate booking and fee apply).  We find that learners particularly enjoy this second session, as it develops their skills to riding techniques such as cornering, hill climbing and hill ascents; preparing them for the challenges of the B Track. Depending on personal confidence and ability, there may even be the opportunity of an accompanied ride on some of the B Track*.  Participants come back with massive smiles wrapped around their faces and a huge sense of achievement!

08.30: Arrive for registration & induction 

9.30: Fitting of protective clothing & allocation of bike

10.00: Tuition commences, personalised to your experience level (remember to bring water and energy snacks, or purchase from the Wool Shed):

Beginners/Novices: from the ground:

-         Key points of the bike

-         Bike handling

On the bike:

-         Starting

-         Stopping

-         Braking

11.00: Practice on the Learners’ Track – a dedicated 35-acre paddock with a purpose-built loop 2km track.  Enjoy your beautiful surroundings as you enjoy your new skill. 

Lunchtime:  Return to the Wool Shed and enjoy our fayre or bring your own picnic to eat in the Park.  Catering can be arranged in advance - additional fee applies. 

13.00: Optional second lesson.  Maybe a practical session, with the coach riding alongside you.

14:00:  Free time to practice. 

Any time before 5pm: Return bikes and protective gear. Relax and say your 'goodbyes' to the Team with a cold drink, nibbles & Thundercross cap.  

Before 6pm: Depart, feeling tired and proud.  Take lots of happy memories home with you and fabulous photos for your social media (#Thundercross)

Note: This Itinerary should be seen as a guide only and is subject to change at any time.  We do, however, endeavour to adhere to the schedule as closely as possible. 

*Please do not attempt the B Track independently, without the second hour of tuition.  It is a big step up from the Learners' Track and requires skills not taught in the first session.
